NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Texas Tech men's tennis seniors Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn recorded a 7-6(4), 6-4 win over Huber/Lima of Indianapolis in the first round of the ITA National Fall Championships consolation bracket on Thursday.

The duo, who are the No. 2 doubles pair in the nation, bounced back following Wednesday's main draw loss with their first win of the tournament on Thursday.

Thomson and Wynn battled back-and-forth with Huber and Lima in the first set, trading games until they eventually won the seventh-point tiebreaker to take the early advantage. The two would pull away from their opponents in the next frame, winning the second set by a two-game margin to advance to the next round of play.

The Red Raiders are slated to face No. 50 Fenty/Siimar of Michigan on Friday.
