Strong cold front expected tonight

Meteorologist Bobby Johnston said there will be a huge temperature range across the region, from 50s in Amarillo to 90 Midland to Snyder. In Lubbock we're expecting a high in the mid 80s, but it all depends on when exactly the front gets here. For a full report: click here.

Reward for info on Emmett shooting

A group of Tech graduates putting up a $50,000 reward for information on the murder of former Tech player Andre Emmett, who was shot in Dallas in the early morning hours of September 23. The confrontation was captured on surveillance footage and shows Emmett sitting in his car. The first suspect approaches, hits him in the face with a gun, Emmett hands over valuables including jewelry, then takes off running trying to escape. He's shot from behind. Sheriff's Office releases name of boy killed by accidental shooting

13 year old Dominic Mejia died from a gun shot wound to the head. He went to school in New Deal. Investigators haven't released other details other than the incident involved two juveniles. For the full story: click here.

Burglary arrest made recovering large amount of stolen jewelry

Lubbock Police arrested 31 year old James Casias accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from Anderson Brothers Jewelers. Police found him trying to leave the Kingsgate Center parking lot early yesterday. When asked to step out of his car, Police noticed he was wearing a bullet proof vest. In his car, officers report they found the jewelry, along with drugs and other stolen property connected to another possible burglary in Plainview. For the full story: click here.

Pilgrim Baptist seeking help to celebrate late veteran

The church of a late Lubbock Air Force veteran is asking for your help for funds for a proper memorial. In celebrating his life, and honoring his sacrifice, Sergeant George Bradley Junior served our country for 20 years. The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Hub City BBQ Cook-off is tonight from 5 to 8 p.m.  Meredith Aldis will be at the South Plains Fairgrounds with some of the competitors while they fire up the grills to prepare for the competition.
