Lubbock Community Theatre opens a production of "The Savannah Sipping Society" by Jamie Wooten, Jessie Jones, and Nicholas Hope. The comedy finds a group of southern women deciding to change their lives over cocktails.

Cast member Pam Brown said the bond on-stage and off-stage has been special.

"I love the script because it's funny, but I love that it's all women," Brown said. "We've had so much fun as a group of women."

Director Sean Allen Jones thinks audience members will be able to recognize and relate to the characters.

"I hope that people come and laugh and look at these ladies and say, 'I know her,'" he said. "They're our mothers, our grandmothers, and they're very funny."

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
