First Look: "Ready or Not," "Angel Has Fallen," "Peanut Butter Falcon"
Getting a jumpstart on the new releases by opening on Wednesday, "Ready or Not" is a horror comedy about a woman who marries into a wealthy family only to learn they play a deadly game on the wedding night. The ensemble cast includes Samara Weaving, Adam Brody and Andie MacDowell.
"Angel Has Fallen" is the second sequel to "Olympus Has Fallen," which was the less good version of "White House Down," which got zero sequels. Gerard Butler returns as a secret service agent who gets framed for attempted assassination of the President. Morgan Freeman returns just for the money. Really, that's why he said he agreed to be in this movie. Fair enough.
"The Peanut Butter Falcon" is about a young man with down syndrome who escapes his nursing home to chase his dream of being a professional wrestler. He hooks up with a criminal on the run played by Shia LaBeouf. Interesting thing about this picture, Zack Gottsagen is a newcomer to acting, and actually has down syndrome. He's been getting rave reviews.
Another inspirational film, "Overcomer" is the story of a high school basketball coach (Alex Kendrick) forced to take over the track team with one runner (Aryn-Wright Thompson). Kendrick also wrote and directed the movie. "Overcomer" is from the studio behind faith based movies like "War Room," "Courageous" and "Fireproof."
