Lubbock's unemployment rate rose in June reaching 3.8 percent. It was 3.2 percent in May.
The statewide jobless rate fell a tenth of a percent to 4.2 percent. It's the third month this year that it's hit that mark which is the lowest rate of unemployment for the state since July 2007.
Amarillo has the state's lowest jobless rate at 3.2 percent. The highest is in the McAllen-Edinburg-Mission area at 7.8 percent. The national unemployment rate in June was 5.3 percent.
