Texas Tech volleyball outside hitter Kenna Sauer has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week following her performance against Iowa State last week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Sauer earns her second Big 12 weekly award of the season, winning Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 21 after tallying 49 kills at the Green Wave Invitational.
The Ankeny, Iowa native posted back-to-back 20 kill performances against her home state team as the Red Raiders split the series with the Cyclones. In Thursday's match she recorded a double-double with 20 kills and 13 digs, averaging four kills per set. She added another 20 kills on Friday, with a career-high six blocks in the Red Raiders' four set win over the Cyclones.
In her first season at Tech after transferring from Missouri, Sauer sits at seventh in the Big 12 in kills per set (3.60) and third overall in kills (234). Her 30 kills against Sam Houston in September are the most by a player in the Big 12 this season. Sauer leads the Red Raiders in kills, kills per set, service aces and points.
