Five more Lubbock County residents have died from COVID-19 and its complicatons, according to the city health department. The total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 is now 618.
City staffers confirmed 1213 new COVID-19 cases and 134 more recoveries Tuesday. There are currently 3,554 active cases in Lubbock County.
A total of 40,585 Lubbock County residents have received a positive test and have since been listed as recovered, more than 90 percent of the total case count of 44,757.
214 patients are currently being treated at a Lubbock hospital for COVID-19. Of those, 65 are in an ICU.
There are currently 29 staffed hospital beds available with 28 patients waiting for a bed.
Lubbock remains about the 15 percent threshold where the percentage of COVID-19 confirmed patients in regional hospitals as a percentage of available hospital beds.
Trauma Service Area B will remain under the addtional restrictions outline under Governor Abbott's Executive Orders until we remain below 15 percent for seven consecutive days.
