Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputy arrested, charged with domestic assault

A Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputy was arrested around 2:45 a.m. Monday morning and charged with domestic assault. 

According to the police report, police were called to the 5200 block of Marshall Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. 

The report states Brandon Coulter, 32, was accused of causing bodily injury to a female. 

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office released the following statement Monday afternoon:

Lubbock County Sheriff’s Deputy, Brandon Coulter, was arrested and charged with domestic violence. At this time, the deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation. We take these allegations very seriously. An internal administrative investigation in coordination with the Lubbock Police Department is underway.
