LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock County grand jury indicted Carlos Rodriquez, 25, for the murder of Zoe Campos Tuesday.

According to an arrest warrant Rodriquez admitted to smoking synthetic marijuana with Campos the night of her death in November 2013. He reportedly told investigators he buried Campos in a shallow grave next to his back porch near 70th and Sherman Ave., but later had to move the body to another part of the yard because his dog kept digging it up.

The warrant stated Rodriquez told someone what happened and then that person "snitched" to investigators late in 2018. That information led investigators to search the property again with ground penetrating radar. LPD found human remains on Nov. 16, 2018 which were later determined to be Campos.

If convicted, Rodriquez could serve up to life in prison.
